We are proud to announce Major League Soccer club, FC Cincinnati, has acquired Bobby Edwards from Northern Ireland side Portadown.
Bobby, from Parsippany NJ, joined our club at age 16 and played two seasons. During his college summers, Bobby competed on our u20 & u23 summer teams.
“This is a great day for Bobby and his family,” said former coach Kevin Nash. “I had the opportunity to coach Bobby for years. First of all, he is a wonderful young man and teammate. I can remember him attending our tryouts after recovering from a devastating shoulder injury. He was out of shape and had lost his confidence. In goal, his shot-stopping was not great at the time, but I remember his intensity was very unique. Over the two years with us, he became one of the top goalkeepers in New Jersey. All because of his drive. Bobby would arrive at our team practices after putting in two hours at the gym. After practice, he would grab dinner and then head back for another workout. He changed his diet and dedicated his lifestyle to achieving his goals. Now to see him succeeding playing professional soccer overseas, and playing in MLS, I am very happy for him. He put in the work and deserves all of the accolades.”
